It is important for us to look after ourselves. But sometimes we can be so busy we forget just to take a minute and do some self care. This thread is for us to keep track of our self care for the dya. Today is something simple for me, I spent 1hr in the bath alone before being pestered by children. Just myself and the quiet, soothing, hot water.

If you were to watch a Horror movie would it affect your mental health in any way? I know sometimes people's mental health can go down due to the scare elements and then there's people like me where Horrors don't affect my mental health.

Are you on them? Have you been on them? Have you been recommended to go on them? What are your experiences with them? Did they help? Did they make things worse? For me I feel like they actually make things worse overall. Tried a couple of different options, Bupropion XL and Fluoxetine, they're just...not working for me. I have...

The primary benefit of using these forums and communities is you can seek support without revealing your identity. You can also connect and interact with people like you. Have you ever used online...

A lot of studies have been performed on how meditation can help mental health and almost all of these studies point out the same fact that meditation has a positive effect on mental health. It was found that people who regularly meditate were less susceptible to stress, anxiety, depression, mania, psychosis, and other mental health issues. Have...

We all know life can really affect your mental state and sometimes it can be difficult to get up every day. What drives you to continue living and for those times you've been having a rough day, what got you out of bed? For me it's my spouse that keeps me going. They've helped me become the man I am today, and they continue to help me become a...

This is a discussion that always comes up whenever there's a terrible mass shooting that occurs in the US. Do violent video games actually cause people to go out and harm others? In my own opinion they do not. I've been playing rated M games since I was a child, my parents trusted me enough to know that the games I played were fictional and not...

I have a social anxiety disorder. I am not very comfortable when a lot of people are around me, I even feel constricted with I am among people. I am not very comfortable talking with people, I can not easily make friends, and I am not very good at social communication. However, I have never sought any help to combat my issues.

Sometimes when people ask us how we are doing, we embellish the truth. Or even lie. This thread shows the difference between what you say to friends or family, and the actual truth. Me first: “I am fine thank you” vs “My mind is screaming that I am never going to be good enough”

  • ‘I’m just tired’ vs ‘I am utterly exhausted and in absolute agony everywhere’
I really relate to this. I had big problems with my mental health in the entry to my teens and throughout young adulthood. There are so many loopholes and ropes you are expected to jump over to access anything resembling a support service. From my experience the bad therapists outweigh the good too. Recently, I was told by a therapist that...

Togger's at the vet tomorrow morning, I'm getting her good back leg looked at, I'm terrified its going to be bad news and she'll either end up with two weak back legs (best case scenario) or end up having to have both back legs removed :(

I've had ADHD all my life but didn't come to know it until I met my boyfriend when I was in my early 50's. He has it and has always struggled to maintain relationships because of the difficulties and challenges directly related to this disorder. He asked me to read the book entitled Driven To Distraction to help me understand him better. He...

I have a phobia for rats. There is no way I can be able to stay in a house where I have seen rats. I passed out once when a rat ran across or over my legs. It's something that freaks me out immediately. Do you have any pests or insects phobia?
