Mental Illness How do you manage your stress?

Stress is a very common mental health issue. There is no way you can avoid this. What you need to do is learn how to cope with stress and how to manage your stress. Here are my favorite ways to manage stress.
Watch feel-good movies
Go for a walk
Eat
Meditate
Perform yoga

I pray. I figure as long as I'm dwelling on something that stresses me out, I might as well not waste the time worrying. Prayer calmes me down and can affect the outcome of the situation in a positive way.

I don't pray but I do like to spend some time processing my thoughts and rationalising them in my mind, which I guess is similar in some way.

In a way it is @Lee, but when I pray, I do so fully believing my prayers are reaching a God who cares and strengthens me. It's more outgoing communication than internalized thought for me. 🙏

Oh yes, I wasn't saying otherwise. I hope there is somebody out there that cares about us and is there to guide us and take care of us. I'm not an avid believer in God, but I am not against the idea either.

I do not believe the bible is God's word though. Does that make me a bad person...? :eek:

Just lying down on your bed and listening to some music or watching a funny TV show helps me a lot. Just helps you calm down and relax

I like to listen to music to help manage my stress. I also enjoy playing video games, ones that I'm familiar with. Watching Youtube videos also helps me feel better after a stressful situation.

Meditation - nothing better for clearing away all the minutia that impacts daily. Great for slowing everything down and releasing stress. Love it and recommend it highly.

I manage stress by sleeping. I always feel reborn after having a deep sleep. That is why I don't even joke with sleeping each time that I want to calm my body.
