Before tolerance can be expressed there has to be understanding; it's impossible to show tolerance towards someone if there is a lack of understanding. Understanding is acquired through knowledge therefore equips you for adopting a state of tolerance. This applies to everything. Of course there are those who do not wish to acquire knowledge or understanding so their position of tolerance or intolerance will be immovable. That is a sad but inevitable state of mind and something we have to deal with on a daily basis. It would be a waste of time to attempt to move people who adopt such a state of mind so we will have to deal with people's intolerance ongoing.
