Are men lonelier than ever?

[Lee]

Men don’t talk. Men don’t ask for help. Men die inside quietly. Society laughs at men’s problems until it sees a suicide post. So yeah, I’d say men are lonelier than ever. Agree or bullshit?

 

[Crystal]

I would agree. Some men learn to open up and find comfort in chatting to a good friend to get their feelings out, and it helps. But most don't, and it's not good. It's important for men to understand that it's ok to talk, to share. They don't have to feel alone. Find someone understanding and talk with them. They probably understand more than you realize.

 

[Lee]

I don’t know a single person outside of Andy’s man club who feels comfortable talking.

This is why the work AMC does is so valuable in supporting men’s mental health.

I don't think we are alone in this. I consider myself lucky to have a wife who understands me. We have both reached the top and hit rock bottom, but now we are on our way back up. This rollercoaster of highs and lows has certainly made us stronger. The last few years have been quite difficult for me, but I have managed to turn things around.

I have a very small circle of people that I will even talk to anymore. You both are good people.
